I just found this incredible non profit that matches runners with children who physically can’t run. Signed up immediately.
It’s a simple form and then you join a Facebook group and wait to be matched! Check it out here.
Here is what the site says “The mental and emotional encouragement for both runner and honorary runner is proving to be a whole new level of motivation and awareness. Runners are able to find a whole new sense of purpose in their running while sharing who they are running for and bringing awareness to diseases and disabilities of all types.”
Here is what they recommend runners do for their matches:
- Make a special shirt with their name to race in
- Make signs
- Ask their parents something special they like and hold it up in pictures
- Send race medals or other race swag
Now I am waiting to be matched! I am having the best time thinking of ideas to surprise my match. Can you think of any cool ideas? Please share!
