Tyler Andrews, 23, of Concord, Mass., broke the unofficial record for a treadmill half marathon.
Runner’s World reports that Andrews was lagging six seconds behind the unofficial treadmill world record half marathon pace – and he only had 1.1 miles to go. (Runner’s World has a great story about Andrews, his record and his motivation here. They even have a video of his epic finish.)
He finished in 1:07:18, 11 seconds faster than Andrew Lemoncello’s previous world record. Then he hit the stop button and promptly collapsed onto the floor in front of a cheering crowd.
And I can’t even get myself to run a mile on the treadmill.
